First nationwide Science Week with the support of Team Telecom Armenia starts in Armenia
YEREVAN, 1 October. /ARKA/. The nationwide ‘Science Week’, which is being held in Armenia for the first time, started on Tuesday with the support of Team Telecom Armenia, the company's press service reported.
Science Week is a series of versatile events for different layers of society aimed at popularising science and technologies, explaining their important role in the modern world and increasing the attractiveness of science for young people.
Within the framework of the Science Week from 1 to 6 October from 15:00 to 21:00 the Festival of Science will be held on Freedom Square, which will be attended by representatives of scientific institutes, universities, educational and technological communities, as well as youth and children.
On 1-2 October, festival-goers will be able to explore different areas of science - from cosmology and anthropology to molecular biology - through science experiments, meetings with scientists, demonstrations and discussions.
On 3-4 October, there will be career guidance activities for children and young people called ‘Scientists of the Future’. Participants will learn why it is worth becoming a physicist, chemist, biologist, mathematician or anthropologist. Young people will meet with scientists who will talk about the specifics of their fields and help guide them in choosing their future profession.
5-6 October will be dedicated to science fiction, which has always been a source of inspiration for scientists and young people, allowing them to turn the imaginary into reality. During these days, the festival will be dedicated to exploring the world of science fiction: from literature to cinema, from comics to painting.
Within the framework of the Science Week, ‘GitaCop’ comic book, ‘Star Horizon’ science fiction stories and ‘Science Week - through my eyes’ drawing contests were organised, the winners of which will be awarded with special prizes from Telecom Armenia team.
