YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. Firebird AI has raised its investment estimate for the second phase of its AI infrastructure project in Armenia to $7–8 billion, according to Alexander Yesayan, co-founder and CEO of Firebird AI.

Previously, the company had announced plans to scale the project to approximately 50,000 GPUs with total investments of around $4 billion.

"We have already announced the first and second phases of the Firebird project. As part of the first phase, we deployed 6,144 NVIDIA B200 GPUs. The second phase involves 45,000 GPUs, and a third phase—adding another 60,000 GPUs—is also planned," Yesayan said on Wednesday during a press conference, responding to a question from the ARKA news agency.

According to him, the investment volume for the second phase alone is now estimated at approximately $7–8 billion, with the third phase requiring an even larger investment.

Over 100,000 GPUs in Armenia

Yesayan stated that upon completion of the project's three phases, Firebird’s computing infrastructure in Armenia would comprise more than 100,000 high-performance GPUs.

He estimates that establishing such capacity will enable Armenia to rank among the top 10 countries globally in terms of relevant computing resources and become a regional leader.

He noted that work is proceeding at an accelerated pace, with the launch of the project's second phase planned within two years.

Annual Turnover Could Exceed $2 Billion

According to the Firebird AI chief, the project's annual turnover could exceed $2 billion following the launch of the second phase.

The project's expansion also entails job creation, primarily for Armenian specialists. "Thousands of people are already involved in the project's implementation—ranging from construction to design and other areas," noted Yesayan.
