AI program to be implemented in over 10 schools in Armenia - minister

YEREVAN, June 10. /ARКА/. An artificial intelligence program will be implemented in over 10 comprehensive schools in Armenia in the 2025-2026 academic year, said RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan.
“Two such programs are already being implemented on an experimental basis in cooperation with the private sector in the field of education,” Andreasyan noted on Tuesday in parliament during the discussion of the report on the implementation of the RA state budget for 2024.
Now, according to her, the program with the FAST Foundation is planned to expand the geography of the program this year, covering about 10 institutions.
“The program has also been successfully tested on international platforms. However, this is a direction where there are many uncertainties, we are constantly monitoring the approaches to its application in a number of countries, and actively participate in these discussions,” Andreasyan said.
Earlier, it was reported that about 600 Armenian schoolchildren are involved in the experimental educational program “Generation AI”, launched about a year ago together with the Foundation for Science and Technology of Armenia (FAST). The program is aimed at forming the educational path of future specialists in the field of AI and is intended for students in grades 10-12, who study mathematics, Python programming, the basics of AI in depth and implement practical projects in this area.
By 2027, it is planned to further expand the program, covering a total of 45 schools.
