Over 40 thousand online payments implemented through payment system ArCa in May 2011
YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. Armenian payment system “Armenian Card” (ArCa) implemented 40.780 online payments (including utility payments) in May 2011 which is by 83.9% more than the indicator in 2010, informs the company to ARKA.
The amount of the given transactions was 190.7 million drams which is by 39.3% more than the indicator of 2010.
13869 non-cash transactions were implemented via ATMs in the amount of 17.3 million drams which is by 82.4% more than the indicator of 2010.
4170 card-to-card transfers were implemented, the amount of which was about 347 million drams (increase 19.7% compared with May 2010).
Armenian Card was established in 2000 as a single national payment system by plastic cards. To date, 19 out of 21 commercial banks in Armenia are involved in the ArCa payment system. ArCa issues and handles ArCa Debit, ArCa Classic, ArCa Gold, ArCa Business, ArCa Affinity, ArCa Co-branded, ArCa Platinum, as well as ArCa pension cards.
The company is a full member of the international payment system MasterCard Europe, and also handles processing of VISA and American Express cards. ($ 1 - 375.83 AMD). -0-
