On-line translator from eastern Armenian to western and vice versa presented to president of Armenia

YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received a working group of the on-line internet multilingual translation program, which is collaborating with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.

The presidential press office said the program provides translation from Western Armenian into Eastern Armenian language and vice versa, into English from both versions of the Armenian language and from English into Western and Eastern Armenian.

President Sargsyan expressed satisfaction with the launch of the program and noted that it creates new opportunities for the preservation and dissemination of the Armenian language in Diaspora.

The head of the group, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Edward Manukian, presented to the president the program, prospects of its expansion, improvement, and implementation. He also informed that daily almost 1300 subscribers mostly from Diaspora use this new program.

The participants of the meeting spoke about the necessity of engaging high class language specialists from the Diaspora and organizing a scientific conference dedicated to the problems of the improvement of the program.

The President of Armenia wished good luck to the working group and said that he was ready to lend support if necessary. -0-
