YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/.  Localizing Microsoft products for Armenian language users will remove another obstacle hindering the development of IT sector in Armenia, Grigor Barseghyan, Country Manager of Microsoft Armenia said on Friday during a press conference.

Still before the opening of Microsoft office in Armenia we prepared the Armenian language interface pack for the Windows XP operating system, he said. Today, we seek to localize virtually every new product of Microsoft, said Barseghyan.

"First time computer users often ask what button to press to open a particular window, and thanks to the Armenian version they are able to understand the course of action, just reading the menu in their native language," said Barseghyan.

"I myself use the Armenian language interface pack for the Windows XP operating system, , and I want to point out that the difficulty arise only in the first month, then all the processes that we do become much clearer and simpler than, for example, in English or Russian versions," he said.

Basregyan said the Armenian version of the new Microsoft Windows 8 operating system will be available in the autumn of 2012.

In 2007 Armenia and Microsoft signed a cooperation agreement whereby Microsoft implements in Armenia a number of investment, educational and innovative programs.-0-
