Fifteen teams from Armenia, USA, Spain, Iran and Russia have already registered for the competition of drones being organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE). The competition is part of Armenia’s Armrobotics open contest, UITE told ARKA.

YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. Fifteen teams from Armenia, USA, Spain, Iran and Russia have already registered for the competition of drones being organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE). The competition is part of Armenia’s Armrobotics open contest, UITE told ARKA.
The participants are tasked to design and build drones which can recognize area, guidance signs, shoot and send images on-line find targets, drop 300 gram cargos and return to the base. The robot drones may have any type of design - VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing), CTOL (conventional takeoff and landing), STVOL (short takeoff and landing) and others. Takeoff and landing can be done automatically and remotely.
The final stage of the competition will be held in October. The competition is also open to teams which have not previously registered, but have ready drones meeting the requirements of the contest. UITE will provide necessary components to build robot drones to five teams that will present the best concepts.
The general sponsor of the contest is VivaCell-MTS telecom. The technical support will be provided by Artin Varuzhan company. The contest is being assisted also by the ministry of defense and Microsoft Innovation Center. -0-
