Armenia’s open championship for computer games design winners announced

YEREVAN, October 22. /ARKA/. The names of Armenia’s open championship for the design of computer games winners were announced Saturday in Yerevan.
The championship, kicked off on April 11, involved 33 designers with 40 projects.
Operating companies, and young Armenian designers either from Armenia or abroad- the USA and Iran, were among the participants.
GraviTire 3D project (3D car racing in “one touch” format) of Anuloid company won in “Best game” nomination ( prize- 500,000 drams), Hexols project of Nuard coding company was recognized a winner in “Innovations” nomination ( 300,000 drams). Another games team won in “Junior” nomination for schoolchildren ( 300,000 drams).
The winners in “Best graphic design” and “Best scenario” nominations got awards with honor. Some participants also received jury and audience awards.
The contest which was first organized in 2011 is implemented by the initiative of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia in cooperation with the company Orange Armenia aiming at the detection of new talents, development of the sphere of designing computer games and entry to international market.
“We are happy, that Orange fosters electronic game industry development. Games give an opportunity to play on the one hand, and teach and develop people, on the other hand. I think, it is good for Armenia, as the country, in my opinion, seeks to develop such business spheres,” Orange Armenia CEO Francis Gelibter told ARKA.
The championship was held in three phases.
The competition is held with the support of the companies TX Systems, Triada, Microsoft, Teoken, Sourcio, as well as Association of Modern Technologies Professionals and National professional league on cyber sport. ($1 – 405.85 drams).—0-
