Armenia plans to open its agency in Silicon Valley

YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to open its representative agency in Silicon Valley, Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan told reporters on Thursday.
The opening will be kicked off at the Fifth Global ArmTech Congress to be held at Stanford University, December 10-11.
“It’s not about some large structure, but a representative individual with his own office that will work on a regular basis,” he said noting that appointment to this position will be very competitive.
The mission of Armenia’s representative in the Silicon Valley will be to attract resources and investments to Armenia, prepare the ground for agreements and packages for the Armenian companies.
ArmTech Congress, which will be held under the patronage and participation of Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, aims to assist Armenia in a gradual hi-tech development via enhancing international business relations and investments growth.
Economy Ministry implies it will help to reveal new business and investment opportunities, create new contacts and expand the professional network.
The representatives of the state bodies, scientific and educational facilities as well as private sectors of Armenia, the U.S., Russia, CIS and European states are expected to give speeches at the Congress.
“Their participation will give a new quality to the congress, will enhance the interest in rapidly developing IT sector in Armenia. The government refers to ArmTech Congress as a platform for discussing, planning and implementing the initiatives directed to enhancing economic and technological achievements of Armenia, as well as improving its prestige as a of a country with a rapidly developing technical sphere,” according to the statement disseminated by Economy Ministry on Thursday.
ArmTech is alternately held in Silicon Valley of California, and Armenia. The first congress took place in San Francisco, July 4-7. —0-
