Armenia’s IT sector “per specialist” profit is over $40,000 every year
YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/. Every specialist of Armenian IT sector provides $41,000 profit per year, director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) Bagrat Yengibaryan told reporters Saturday.
According to him, effectiveness of Armenian IT specialists is very high and is comparable with that of developed countries.
Every year Armenia records a 15% increase in IT staff and, hence, a 10% increase in number of technology enterprises, Yengibaryan said.
Armenian government has set a target to prepare 2,000 IT staffs every year.
In 2000, Armenian government announced IT sector is of priority in the country’s economic development. According to the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), there about 350 IT companies in Armenia today, with staff totaling around 10,000 employee. IT sector recorded a 25% growth as of the end of 2012 compared to 2011. –0--
