YEREVAN, July 23. /ARКА/. Redwire Corporation, a global leader in aerospace and defense technology solutions, announced on July 22 that it has signed the first phase of a multi-phase contract with DeepSat, an Armenia-based Earth observation startup founded in 2024.

The contract includes advanced modeling, simulation, and design services for the planned dual-use VLEO (Very Low Earth Orbit) satellite constellation, according to the Redwire website.

This is DeepSat’s first step toward deploying a VLEO constellation designed to serve customer missions using high-precision and in-orbit AI for advanced sensor fusion.

During the initial phase of the contract, Redwire will use its Acorn 2.0 agent-based modeling and simulation (ABMS) software to support the architecture design and performance optimization of the DeepSat constellation.

Acorn 2.0’s high-fidelity agent-based approach will enable DeepSat to rapidly evaluate system behavior, mission utility, and operational scenarios across a wide range of conditions, accelerating development and launch timelines.

Acorn 2.0, along with the Digitally Engineered Mission Systems & Integration (DEMSI) platform and processes, forms the foundation of state-of-the-art space missions, supporting space systems design, hardware and software integration, and testing.

“Working on VLEO presents unique design challenges that require advanced digital engineering to accurately model, analyze, and optimize mission performance, risk profiles, and multi-domain collaboration — capabilities that Redwire is leveraging to support next-generation space missions,” said Tom Campbell, president of Redwire Space Missions.

According to him, Redwire is proud to support DeepSat in developing their innovative constellation, which will deliver advanced space technologies that will enhance Earth observation capabilities and enable smarter decisions on the ground.

DeepSat’s advanced VLEO constellation will combine high revisit rates with on-orbit AI and multi-domain intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. The platform provides robust, real-time, AI-powered Earth observation for mission-critical applications such as vessel detection, energy infrastructure monitoring, and disaster assessment for civil, commercial, and defense applications.

“This collaboration accelerates our ability to deliver a new level of real-time Earth observation powered by proven digital engineering,” said DeepSat co-founder and CEO Nerses Ohanyan.

He added that Redwire’s capabilities help reduce investment risk, accelerate time to market, and scale quickly to meet urgent customer needs.
