Top managers of big IT companies to gather in Yerevan for WCIT-2019

YEREVAN, August 19. /ARKA/. The World Congress on Information Technology, WCIT-2019 in Yerevan, will host 2,500 participants from 70 countries on October 6 to 9. Alexander Yesayan, the president of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, speaking Saturday at a news conference, revealed the names of some celebrity guests of the Congress and presented some organizational aspects of the event.

He said some of ten key speakers have already confirmed their participation. Nagavara Ramarao Narayana, an Indian IT industrialist and the co-founder of Infosys, Jensen Huang, president and executive director of NVIDIA, and Min Kao, founder of Garmin Ltd.Uve, are among them.
Yesayan said 59 reporters and 12 information technology ministers from many countries will speak at the forum.

He confirmed the information that the forum organizers have invited Barack Obama, former U.S. president to the event, but, in his words, it is still not known whether he will attend the forum or not. Yesaya also said that the names of many guests are kept secret so far.
It became known earlier that Alexis Ohanian, the cofounder of Reddit service, Vahe Torossian, the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft, and Jenny Bofinger-Schuster, the Sustainability Director at Siemens, will attend the forum.

Key themes will includegreen technologies, education in the new age, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, blockchain, startups and entrepreneurship, clean energy, smart cities, machine learning, etc.

Contests will be held as part of the forum to give startup entrepreneurs a chance to present their ideas to international venture funds and world entrepreneurs for receiving investments for putting them into practice. All the ideas will be considered and the best 15 will be chosen by jurors.

To encourage the best startups, a fund has been established. Its total amount is USD 100,000 now.

Alexander Yesayan also said that a unique concert will be given on the WCIT 2019 opening day - representatives of all those countries where the international congress has taken place will take part in it.  

As a result, a single melody will be created by using high technologies and artificial brain, where all the 17 music pieces will combine.

The concert will be continued by local and foreign DJs, and one of them will be Armin van Buuren, record producer and remixer from the Netherlands.

According to Yesayan, Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport and Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex will be completely reequipped specially for the international congress.  

In his words, representatives of Armenian communities all over the world have expressed interest in the event and many of them are supporting the host country in preparations for the event.

The UАTE president also said that because of the great number of people wanting to attend the event, one ticket price for an Armenian citizen will be USD 400 and for foreigners USD 600.
