YEREVAN, July 16. /ARКА/. A number of Russian TV channels broadcasting in Armenia have crossed all possible boundaries, but we would not like to resort to closing them, said RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Based on my considerations, I would not like us to be forced to make this decision. Because we are not looking for opposition, contradictions, for God's sake... That is, any kind of conflict situation with the Russian Federation," he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Pashinyan said that he has very respectful, open, transparent, honest relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to him, Armenia strives to have normal, friendly relations with Russia based on mutual respect.
The Television and Radio Commission of Armenia stated that the RTR-Planeta and Channel One. World Wide Web public multiplex channels have repeatedly aired programs with offensive content regarding state institutions of Armenia, the Armenian people and national values. This is a violation of the intergovernmental agreement "On cooperation in the field of mass telecommunications" between Armenia and Russia from 2000 and contradicts the traditionally mutually respectful allied relations between the two countries.
