Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian to attend WCIT congress in Armenia
YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. American Armenian Internet entrepreneur and investor Alexis Ohanian, who is the co-founder and executive chairman of the social news website Reddit and Stan Shih, the founder, president, and chairman of Acer Inc., will travel to the Armenian capital Yerevan later this year to attend the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), the largest and the most reputable international event among worldwide IT leaders.
The WCIT is scheduled to take place on October 6-9, 2019 and around 2500 IT leaders from 60 countries are expected to attend it. The founders of Google, Amazon, Facebook and other companies gave their oral consent to participate in WCIT in Yerevan as well.
Armenia was approved as the hosting country for WCIT 2019 during the meeting of the WITSA’s board of directors at WCIT 2014 Mexico.
The World Congress on Information Technology is the largest and the most reputable international event among worldwide IT leaders. It brings together high-level officials from different countries, heads of multinational organizations, universities and scientific research centers, non-governmental organizations’ representatives and many more.
The event includes discussions of legal, political and economic trends affecting IT business processes, presentations of innovative solutions, B2B meetings and so on. The WCIT has been held since 1978. -0-
