Pashinyan: Permits approved for export of another batch of Nvidia high-power chips to Armenia

YEREVAN, February 9. /ARКА/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that permits have been approved for the export of another batch of Nvidia high-power chips to Armenia.

"I am pleased to note that, thanks to the memorandum signed on August 8 between Armenia and the United States in the field of semiconductors and artificial intelligence, Firebird's mega-project to build an artificial intelligence plant and data center in Armenia will be implemented," he said during a joint press conference with US Vice President J.D. Vance.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the close and transparent cooperation between Armenia and the United States in high technology will further develop and strengthen mutually beneficial collaboration between companies from both countries.

About the AI Data Center Project

It was previously reported that the Armenian government, NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group will join forces to create the region's most powerful supercomputer and data center powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

The $500 million investment in the AI data center project in Armenia will become a platform for innovation, education, science, and entrepreneurship, stimulating the development of local and international startups, bridging the gap between science and technology, and transforming Armenia into a regional tech hub—a true destination for AI development. This will radically change the region's technological landscape.

The equipment will be purchased from NVIDIA, a leading global manufacturer of such technology, and the newly established Firebird will own the data center. Dell is also participating. The project, scheduled to launch in 2026, will deploy thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and create infrastructure with a capacity of over 100 MW.-0-
