The testing of YouTube's monetization tool in Armenia is an important step toward the country's integration into the global space, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. The testing of YouTube's monetization tool in Armenia is an important step toward the country's integration into the global space, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"You may have noticed that commercials have begun appearing between YouTube videos in Armenia. This means that, in accordance with the agreement, YouTube is beginning to activate the monetization tool in Armenia, and testing is currently underway," Pashinyan said during a live broadcast on his Telegram channel.
He noted that this is positive news for YouTube channel owners interested in generating revenue from visual content.
The prime minister emphasized that the activation of the tool is another step toward global integration. He also noted that YouTube has high standards for visual content and expressed hope that the implementation of the monetization tool will contribute to improving its quality in the country.
The head of government added that this opens up an additional source of income for visual content creators and expressed hope that the published materials will be based on knowledge and aesthetics and will contribute to improved public communication.
Earlier, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced that monetization of the YouTube video hosting service in Armenia could be activated in late April or early May 2026.
