YEREVAN, February 13. /ARКА/. At its session on Friday, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted amendments to the law "On the Regulation of Gaming Activities" and several related laws in the second and final reading.

According to Rafael Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, regulation of the digital gaming sector will be carried out through a single operator.

According to him, an interdepartmental commission has been established under the State Revenue Committee, which is conducting a competition to select the operator. The operator will be hired for a term of 15 years and will ensure the functioning of the digital regulation system.

The plan is to create a digital infrastructure integrated with all operators and organizers of gaming activities, including online platforms and physical gambling houses.

"The implementation of the system will allow the state to receive centralized information on all transactions in the industry, including bets, wins, and losses," Gevorgyan noted.

He added that the agency currently lacks comprehensive data on the industry's activities, and the level of digitalization in the gaming sector remains insufficient, which prompted the initiative's development.
