Future is determined by technology: Armenian Prime Minister names conditions for its development

YEREVAN, October 14. /ARКА/. The future is determined by the implementation of technology and the ability to manage these processes, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the 9th Silicon Mountains 2025 Summit in Yerevan.

"The Armenian government encourages the development of technology, and this requires three conditions: education, education, and education. And a good education system requires infrastructure, policy, and regulation," Pashinyan said.

He acknowledged that money is also very important. "What does it take to have money? The government has three answers: education, education, and education. If you check the list of the richest people and countries in the world, this becomes clear," Pashinyan said.

He stated that he does not advise people to look for work to improve their well-being, but to let work find them.

"Events like these are important for shaping society's correct attitude toward technology. Technology has always accompanied humanity. We're talking about AI, but we must acknowledge that plant growing is also a technology. Fire and warm food were cutting-edge technologies in their time," Pashinyan said.

He noted that technology has been and will remain a means of improving human quality of life.

"Technology carries threats and challenges. But this is nothing new. They say that today's technologies can create addiction in people. However, this also happened with the development of pharmaceuticals. These challenges persist today," Pashinyan said.

Eduard Musaelyan, Executive Director of the Union of Employers in Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT), stated that the goal of holding Silicon Mountains is to create a smart country.

"AI, like any technological revolution, brings numerous challenges, particularly those related to data security and storage. We must learn to address these challenges and ensure that AI serves humanity," Pashinyan said.

The 9th Silicon Mountains 2025 Summit, titled "Anatomy of Artificial Intelligence," is being held in Yerevan on October 14. More than 800 participants and over 10 international speakers are expected, including Vincent Roche, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), winner of the 2025 State Prize of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution to High Technology.

Silicon Mountains is an annual technology summit organized by UEICT (the Union of Employers in Information and Communication Technologies of Armenia) with the support of the Ministry of High Technology Industry of Armenia since 2019. The goal is to bring together local and international experts, entrepreneurs, technologists, and government officials to discuss key trends in IT, innovation, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, security, and more.-0-
