YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/. Digital tools are planned to be introduced in Armenia in the coming years to protect competition, Gegham Gevorgyan, head of the RA Commission for the Protection of Competition and Consumer Interests, told the ARKA news agency on Monday.
"The number of actions on digital platforms that can impact competition and consumer interests is very large, and they are sometimes hidden. It is impossible to detect them using traditional methods. These tools must be used to combat violations in the digital environment," Gevorgyan said.
According to him, the commission is already working in this direction and is using a number of digital tools. In particular, it is monitoring price changes both in Armenia and globally to identify potential problems.
Gevorgyan reported that the "Consumer Assistant" service was recently launched, allowing users to report violations directly to businesses through the commission's digital platform.
He also noted that work is underway with the Yerevan Municipality to integrate this tool with the Active Citizen platform.
"We are also trying to analyze and develop our data using AI, which will enable us to conduct more targeted analyses on issues related to consumer interests," Gevorgyan said.
