Armenian schoolboy Aram Amirkhanyan won a bronze medal at the Second International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), which was held in Beijing, China, from August 2 to 9.

YEREVAN, August 11. /ARKA/. Armenian schoolboy Aram Amirkhanyan won a bronze medal at the Second International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), which was held in Beijing, China, from August 2 to 9.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, 284 schoolchildren from 60 countries took part in the Olympiad.

No more than 2 teams could participate from each country, with no more than 4 participants in each team (80 teams in total). The age of the participants should not exceed 20 years. Armenia participated in the Olympiad with one team.

The team was formed from 11th grade students participating in the experimental educational program "Generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)", implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Armenia and the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), based on the results of the national tour organized with the participation of about 400 people.

The Armenian team was represented at the Olympiad by 11th grade students of the "Generation AB" program of Vanadzor Specialized School with Advanced Study of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Aram Amirkhanyan, Seryozha Nazaryan, Vahe Pluzyan and 11th grade student of the "Generation AB" program of Vanadzor Secondary School No. 11 named after Griboyedov David Jaghatspanyan. In the overall team standings, the Armenian team took 16th place, and Aram Amirkhanyan won a bronze medal in the individual standings.

The Olympiad was held in 3 stages: home (3 tasks), team (2 stages of tasks: simulation and with the Galbot robot) and individual (6 tasks according to the AB program).-0-
