YEREVAN, March 22. /ARKA/. Armenian Ucom telecommunications company has officially announced today the re-branding of its last year’s acquisition- Orange Armenia- a subsidiary of France Telecom.

Speaking at a news conference, Ucom CEO  Hayk Yesayan said  the company will start providing its services under the single Ucom brand from late April at all Orange Armenia’s 80 service offices.
He said also that Ucom plans to keep Orange Armenia tariff offers, including tariffs for roaming and international calls.

According to him, Ucom will assume all the obligations of Orange Armenia and the latter’s subscribers will not have to renew their contracts. Also Ucom plans to keep all social programs that are carried out by Orange Armenia.

Ucom Commercial Director Aram Barseghyan said the company will soon unveil new roaming tariffs for Armenian users.

Ucom (Universal Communications) was founded in 2007. It is engaged in providing telecommunications services. With assistance from Ericsson, the company created a broadband access network, providing Internet services, IP-TV and fixed telephony.

Orange Armenia, 100% subsidiary of France Telecom, was acquired by Ucom in 2015 autumn. Orange launched its mobile voice and internet services in Armenia on November 5, 2009.  The company provided a full range of voice and data services in 600 cities and villages of Armenia, to more than 95% of the population. -0-
