Armenia to Eliminate Mandatory Printed Publication of Notices for Digital Platforms – Justice Minister
YEREVAN, March 18. /ARКА/. Armenia plans to eliminate the mandatory requirement to publish notices and information arising from other types of official publications in the print media, RA Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on state and legal affairs on Wednesday.

"It will be replaced by publication of information on the official public notification platform - azdarar.am - or on the website of a particular organization. Specifically, a number of laws are currently in effect in Armenia that mandate the publication of various types of information in the press," Galyan noted, presenting the first reading of a draft law amending the Law on Public and Individual Notification via the Internet and several related laws. According to her, this requirement was relevant previously, when the print media was the primary source of public information, and such regulations were aimed at ensuring accessibility of information to the general public.

"However, in recent years, the rapid development of IT, the availability of digital platforms, and the ability to disseminate information through them indicate that publishing information in the print media has become obsolete. Consequently, publications in the print media cannot currently be considered an effective or accessible format for disseminating information," Galyan said.

The commission approved the bill.
