Armenia ranks 5th in the world in ChatGPT usage per capita and leads in the South Caucasus - Jrbashyan

YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Armenia is ranked 5th worldwide in terms of ChatGPT usage per capita and stands out as the leader in the South Caucasus, with 7.9% of its population utilizing the service on a weekly basis. This information was shared by Tigran Jrbashyan, the Director of Management Consulting at Ameria, referencing the unofficial StatCounter rating for 2025.

"The swift proliferation of this technology indicates a high level of digital literacy within a society that is already actively engaging with AI," he expressed on his Facebook page.

Jrbashyan further noted that, alongside the AI Data Factory initiative, Armenia possesses a distinctive opportunity; only a handful of small nations exhibit such extensive technological adoption at the societal level coupled with institutional investment.

"With an appropriate strategy, this could position Armenia as a regional center for AI research, education, and applied innovation, thereby enhancing its long-term competitiveness in the knowledge economy," he remarked.

Armenia’s global ranking is an estimate derived from per capita adoption and market share statistics (StatCounter, 2025) and is not an officially recognized ranking. In the surrounding countries, 4.3% of the population in Georgia utilizes the service, 4.1% in Azerbaijan, 4.5% in Turkey, and 3.5% in Iran. StatCounter is an international analytics platform that gathers data on internet traffic and user behavior.-0-
