YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. Cybersecurity is today becoming a cornerstone of Armenia's national security, public trust, and digital governance, stated RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

"The implementation of an effective cybersecurity policy is becoming increasingly important given the evolving and expanding cyberthreats globally. This requires clear and targeted steps taken by the government in collaboration with the private sector, industry experts, and international partners," he said at the opening of the ITU international cybersecurity exercise, held as part of CyberMonth 2025.

The minister presented government-initiated institutional and legislative reforms aimed at establishing clearly coordinated responsibilities between public and private entities, unified security standards, and response mechanisms to ensure effective and coordinated cybersecurity management.

According to Hayrapetyan, Armenia strives to be part of an open and partnership-based system where information sharing, threat assessments, and joint response exercises contribute to strengthening global resilience. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation with international partners, particularly the ITU and regional organizations, to enhance cybersecurity preparedness and response capabilities.
