Armenia and Amazon Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in AI, Cybersecurity, and Renewable Energy
YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is in New York on a working visit, met with Franco Spicariello, Director of Public Policy for the EU and Mediterranean at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and David Roth, Director of Global Public Policy at Amazon.
According to the presidential press service, the meeting discussed the prospects for the development of high technologies in Armenia, particularly their application in the economy and public administration. The importance of the IT sector for economic growth, the formation of an innovative environment, and increasing the country's competitiveness was emphasized.
Khachaturyan noted the importance of effectively harnessing the potential of renewable energy, emphasizing its role in strengthening energy security and sustainable development, as well as in creating a foundation for the development of artificial intelligence and high technologies.
The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in cybersecurity, sharing experiences, and implementing joint programs. It was noted that the implementation of the latest tools will ensure a high level of information security.
Khachaturyan praised AWS's support for the Virtual Institute of Artificial Intelligence and emphasized the importance of developing joint programs for the application of AI in public policymaking. He stated that this will improve governance efficiency and foster an innovative political culture in Armenia.-0-
