A powerful geomagnetic storm will hit Armenia tonight, Director of the ‘Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Centre’ Levon Azizyan said.
YEREVAN, 10 October. /ARKA/. A powerful geomagnetic storm will hit Armenia tonight, Director of the ‘Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Centre’ Levon Azizyan said.
‘Astronomers are reporting an expected geomagnetic storm that will hit Armenia on 10-11 October, starting from today's 8pm (Yerevan time). According to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the storm is rated G3, but may intensify to ‘very strong class’ G4,’ Azizian wrote in a Facebook post.
According to him, two powerful solar flares of class X1.8 and X1.5 occurred on 9 October at 01:50 (UTC) and 12:40 (UTC). -0-
