YEREVAN, January 29. /ARKA/. A new type of telephone fraud has emerged in Armenia, as information security expert Samvel Martirosyan warned on his Facebook page.
“You receive a call from a mobile operator (currently in Russian, but they will definitely find an Armenian operator later). They ask you to follow a link, supposedly for 5G registration. The call comes from an Armenian number (the owner of the number is unaware of this, as the call is spoofed). In short, in such cases, remember: if you're asked to fill out something or provide a code, they are trying to collect certain information. Here's what you should do: hang up the call and call back to verify,” Martirosyan wrote.
