YEREVAN, May 24. / ARKA /. Armenian Internet users view more pages a month by using Opera mini browser than users in other former Soviet republics, according to fresh results from the Opera State of the Mobile World report April 2011, which reveals that the social component is dominant in the surfing habits of the top 20 mobile-surfing countries.

In April 2011 Opera mini browser had over 107.1 million users, a 4.6% increase from March 2011. According to Opera, this puts the Opera Mini browser firmly in the top position as the world’s most popular mobile browser. According to the report, an average surfer in Armenia views 1,347 web pages a month.

The top 10 countries using the Opera Mini browser in the CIS region are Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.

From April 2010 to April 2011, page views in the top 10 countries of the CIS increased by 198%, unique users increased by 65% and data transferred increased by 176%. Most popular websites in the CIS are Vkontakte, Yandex, Odnolklassniki, Google and Mail.ru

Uzbekistan and Belarus reported the highest rise in the number of viewed pages -744 and 400 percent respectively. The number of users is fast growing in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, while Belarus and Uzbekistan were leaders in terms of data transferred growth. -0-
