Berd to have mobile Tumo Center
YEREVAN July 30. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia approved today allocation of space in the town of Berd, located near the border with Azerbaijan, for a mobile Tumo center for creative technologies.
Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan noted that this is a very important project. According to him, through mobile centers, Tumo will conduct training courses. He said Tumo center will also retrain local teachers.
"This is the first project of this kind, but Tumo plans to extend it to various regions of the country," Harutyunyan said.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attached importance to the implementation of the project, especially now in the context of discussions on regional development strategies.
"We are discussing strategies for the development of border regions, but it is obvious that there is an obligatory component at the heart of all strategies - the education. In this context, Tumo's arrival at Berd is very important, also from the point of view of regional development," Pashinyan said.
The Tumo Center for Creative Technologies opened in Armenia in 2011. The center trains young people aged 12 to 18 to work in the IT field using modern technologies. The center also opened a branch in Paris in 2018. -- 0--
