Orange Armenia, the Armenian subsidiary of France Telecom, has launched today sales of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C devices.

YEREVAN, November 1. / ARKA /. Orange Armenia, the Armenian subsidiary of France Telecom, has launched today sales of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C devices.

Orange Armenia Sales Director Arsen Hovhannisyan said only gray color iPhone 5S phones with 16 GB memory are available so far. As for iPhone 5C phones with 16 GB memory they are available in blue, yellow and white colors.

The price of iPhone 5S for retail customers is 425,000 drams, and that of iPhone 5C is 365,000 drams. But if a buyer subscribes to one of the company’s tariff plans -Butterfly, Dolphin or Panther - the cost of the first will drop to 270,000 drams and that of the second to 215,000 drams. He also said that Orange Armenia provides warranty and post-warranty service of smart phones.

Arsen Hovhannisyan said the new smartphones have faster processor, an upgraded camera, and a protection and identification system through owner’s fingerprint used to log into the system.

Hovhannisyan said only 50 people had registered at the company’s website preliminary to buy the devices. He also said that the first five buyers of the new models will be given free all the necessary accessories. Both models support LTE.

He said also Orange Armenia is considering participating in a program designed to replace old iPhone devices with new models. Under this program, users who want to purchase a new version of iPhone, will be able to get a discount if hand their old IPhone devices to Apple. The price of the old iPhone can not exceed $280.

Old Apple iPhones will be recycled in the United States. The program is open to models iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 , iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. -0-
