Microchip Technology to open branch in Armenia
YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received today Vice President of U.S.-based Microchip Technology Bruce Weyer, the government press service reported.
It said Pashinyan welcomed Microchip Technology's cooperation with Armenian Instigate Semiconductor to open a branch in Armenia. He also noted that development of the IT sector is one of the government's priorities, and steady growth is being recorded in this strategic area.
"We appreciate the involvement of famous IT companies in the Armenian market and we are ready to support investment processes, which will boost innovations in our economy," he said.
In his turn, Weyer noted that Microchip Technology is interested in implementation of projects in Armenian market and plans to work in such directions as software, production of microchips and industry education.
Views on cooperation in the sphere of high and information technologies were exchanged at the meeting.
